Brer Rabbit was one of my favourite stories growing up. Part of an oral tradition of storytelling passed down by African-Americans predominantly in the Southern United States, Brer Rabbit is a trickster who succeeds by his wits, provoking authority figures and bending social mores as he sees fit. Some scholars have suggested that in his American incarnation, Brer Rabbit represented the enslaved Africans who used their wits to overcome adversity and to exact revenge on their adversaries, the white slave owners. Though not always successful, the efforts of Brer Rabbit made him a folk hero. We have cloaked our handsome Brer Rabbit with fur appliques to give some tactile dimension to a folkloric hero.

This design is fitted with a 112cm removeable heavyweight coated iron chain for hands-free living.

The market loved it, including our competitors who became fans – we see everything, yes, EVERYTHING. (note to readers: imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery!).
